RUINS OF THE FINNISH POWER PLANT
Interesting facts:
- These are the ruins of a Finnish sawmill, or more precisely, the ruins of its power plant building.
- The power plant supplied electricity to the sawmill and nearby settlements, including Halila (Sosnovy Bor) and Patru (Zeleny Holm).
- Old Finnish maps available online mark the sawmill area as "saha" (sawmill), and its size indicates that it was a large industrial district.

SAVINIEMI MANOR
Interesting facts:
- In 1900, the Chairman of the Zemstvo Assembly of the St. Petersburg Province, Major General Prince Ivan Saltykov, purchased a large land plot in Perkjärvi, where he built a brick factory and a sawmill.
- On the shore of the lake of the same name (now Bolshoe Kirillovskoe), he constructed a large three-story palace, the so-called "White Estate" or Saviniemi Manor, using the innovative reinforced concrete of that time.
- A narrow-gauge railway led directly to the estate from the Perkjärvi station, allowing Saltykov to reach both the factory and the station in his own personal carriage.

SUUR-MERIJOKI MANOR
Interesting facts:
- In 1900, the land for the future estate was purchased for the construction of a summer residence by St. Petersburg entrepreneur Maximilian Otmar Neuscheller, a Swiss national, philanthropist, and one of the shareholders of the Triangle Factory.
- The acquired land covered 1,548 hectares, of which 615 hectares were arable.
- In 1910, an observatory was built in the fields, equipped with a telescope, as Neuscheller was also passionate about color photography.
- The main estate building, constructed in the Finnish Art Nouveau style, was designed between 1901-1904 by the architectural firm Gesellius-Lindgren-Saarinen and was set deep within the park.
- After 1917, the estate was sold to Finnish businessman Ingman, and in 1927, it was taken over by the Finnish Armed Forces. An airfield was built on the estate's grounds, which hosted air shows. With the start of World War II, it became a military airfield, and the estate housed an officers' club.
- During the war, the building was hit by a bomb and was never restored.
